Valentine’s Day Chevron Tip Heart Nails

Hey There Polished People!

I’m not feeling all too chatty today. I feel like all my attempted Valentine’s Day nails are turning out to be a mess. These are no exception, but maybe you’ll like the idea and do a better job yourself. The lady at the bank today really loved them and couldn’t believe I’d done them myself, so at least that was good. When I look at them I’m just like, “Ugggghhhhh!!!” Let’s see what you think.

Valentine’s Day Chevron Tip Heart Nails

How To Get These Nails:

  1. Use your favorite basecoat.
  2. Paint your nails with Ulta Baby Doll. I kinda hate this polish, it’s streaky and took like 3 coats to only be mostly opaque. It was annoying, and I just didn’t remember it being this way. I recommend using a different baby pink color.
  3. Use Essie Nothing Else Metals to paint the chevron tips on each nail. See this chevron tips tutorial if you don’t know how, they’re super easy. πŸ™‚
  4. Use a dotting tool and Jessica Secret Love to make the hearts right above the chevron tip.
  5. Apply topcoat and call it macaroni!

I think I would like these better if the chevron tip and the heart were the same color, also I would have been happier if my hearts didn’t turn out sloppily. I don’t know what was wrong with me. Let me know if you try these nails yourself. Do you have a Valentine’s Day mani planned? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading and till next time- Happy Polishing!! πŸ˜€

  1. I could smack you… You’re being silly. I in all honesty really like these and what I like most about them seems to be what you dislike the most. I like that the chevron and heart are two different colors. It would be boring if they were the same. And my favorite parts are the hearts. I like that they’re not cookie cutter. They’re not sloppy at all, but they have that crafty hand made look to them that I like πŸ™‚ So stop being such a turd. (I meant that with love)

  2. I’m not doing anything special on my nails for Valentine’s Day….maybe I’ll paint them black. ha! I’ve been super moody lately and I just want everyone to shut up and leave me alone. lol I probably wouldn’t do these nails because they’re girlie. πŸ˜› I’m seriously PMS’ing…what a bummer. Yeah, TMI…

    • Hey that’s ok. I understand. Maybe I’ll paint mine black for valentines day too. :p I wore those hearty ones for like 2 hours. I did them, but they’re not exactly my style.

  3. I think these are cute but too girly for me to wear. I don’t see anything wrong with them but I also know how it feels to be ones own worse critic. I think I’ll wear blue this Valentine’s Day.

  4. I like this and I think it’s super cute!!!
I like the silver chevrons and that’s actually my fav bit!

Actually no I don’t have any Valentine’s manis. I guess I better get on it hey?! Lmao

    • Thanks!!! I know by this time you have your valentines manis done so I’ll have to pop over to your blog and check em out. I have really been slacking on the blog following. 😦

  5. I think they look very “Valentine.” I kind of thought I wasn’t a huge fan of them, but I look at them and can’t really find anything wrong with them, sooo…I guess I am on board! I *guess* the hearts are not perfect, perfect, but they likely wouldn’t be unless you stamped or something, and is that really necessary? Hahaha. Your chevrons *are* perfect, though. :p
I sort of did nail art for Valentine’s! I did my thumb, index, and middle with ChG Adventure Red-y, my ring with OPI My Very First Knockwurst with a red heart decal, and Milani Disco Lights on my pinky. I was proud, haha.

    • Wow! Look at you being all artsy! πŸ™‚ That sounds very cute!! I didn’t even wear these for Valentine’s Day, I actually just wore the blue herringbone nails on that day. I’m a rebel! πŸ˜‰ Thanks about these nails, even though I can tell you’re torn. It’s ok to not like them. They didn’t do much for me either, if I’m being honest. Idk why.. I’m kinda like you, like I don’t really see anything TOO wrong with them, but nothing too right, either.
