31 Inspired Days of Nail Art: Day 21- Delicate Nails!

Hey There Everyone!

Well I think I’m back on the proper challenge schedule so as long as I don’t do anything stupid (again) my posts should line up properly with Cynthia and Alaina’s. Today brings us to delicate print. That’s a hard theme to figure out. What exactly is delicate? Light colors? Fine detail? Those awful (sorry if you like them) velvet manicures? Duck nails? Oh wait- it’s delicate not disgusting! Haha. Seriously though, those are sick. I eventually did decide what to do with my nails for today so I hope you think the result is delicate enough. Wanna see?

Delicate Nails

In lower light.

How To Get These Nails:

  1. Paint your nails with basecoat.
  2. Paint your nails with 2 or 3 coats of Essence Gorgeous Bling Bling (see below for a review).
  3. Apply a coat of Seche Vite and allow your nails to dry thoroughly.
  4. When your nails are completely dry, use BM 323 and Essie Penny Talk to stamp the design on each nail.
  5. Apply a final coat of Seche Vite and call it macaroni!!!

Review of Essence Gorgeous Bling Bling

Color:

Gorgeous Bling Bling is a terra cotta colored polish with soft gold flakes suspended within. In darker light it looks brick red and in brighter light it’s a beautiful clay color. This is perfect for fall and the added gold flakes just make it look so interesting and pretty.

Formula/ Application:

Perfect. Opaque in a couple of coats with careful application. Goes on smooth, self levels, no complaints what so ever.

Yes, Please! or No, Thank You:

Yes, Please!! This is another color from Essence that I have nothing like. I love the terra cotta color and the flakes in there just add a little extra “something.” This shade just screams fall and winter and looks sophisticated enough to wear anywhere, but still not your mama’s boring mauve. The name Gorgeous Bling Bling is a little strange but I still love it. I highly recommend it. The more Essence polishes I use the more I love them!

Are these “delicate” enough for you? I had such a hard time with that!! I liked how the stamping played well with that lovely Essence color. Since Gorgeous Bling Bling is such a funny name it got me thinking about other weird polish names… I remember a Sation polish called something like Miss Emo-Shun-All, I think… What are some other super weird polish names? Don’t forget to leave a comment and click on the button below to check out Alaina and Cynthia’s delicate print nail designs. 🙂 Thank you all for reading and commenting and till next time- Happy Polishing!! 😀

  1. I agree, I had such a hard time when i did the challenge, wth is delicate?? I ended up with something similar too hard and broad of a word.. lol for nails these came out beautiful! Love them

    • Thanks! Yeah delicate is definitely too broad so you think like oh I have to pick the absolute most delicate nails ever!! And then can think of exactly NOTHING!! Haha. I feel your pain!!

  2. I had to Google “duck nails” despite knowing I would regret it. I most definitely do.
I like this color, but I do not understand the name. At first I felt like it kinda ruined it having such a stupid name, but now I just think it’s kinda funny…the polish that everyone likes, but hates the name of.
I think this fit the “delicate” criteria! My first impression of “delicate” would be a filigree-type stamp, like this one, in a metallic, like this one! I guess also perhaps a pastel color, but these still fit the bill for me!
I have a Dollish Polish called “Fat Guy in a Little Coat” that I bought specifically for the fact it is named and inspired after that scene in Tommy Boy. I also have a polish from hufflepolish called “The Glitter Factory”, which is named after the strip club on Parks and Recreation, which is therefore also why I bought it. 😉

    • Oh my gosh I would buy both of those for the names/ associations alone!! Throw in a Billy Madison or Mr. Deeds and it’d be the trifecta. 🙂 I love parks and rec! I started watching cuz in the summer I work for the parks and rec department, but it was so hilarious I watch them all on demand now. Aziz Ansari is hilarious. He’s funny on there but have you seen his stand up or his appearances on like the tonight show?? DIE LAUGHING. Thanks about these nails. I think this polish is great because of the odd name… it’s like a “thing” crazy name, pretty polish. Haha. Makes it unique in its own way. 🙂

    • I know right?!? I’m telling you, Essence has got to be the most underrated drugstore brand polish. So inexpensive, so nice quality and so interesting w their color/formula combinations! Thanks for reading and commenting. 🙂

  3. LOL @ delicate not disgusting. Omg…duck nails…I don’t even have the words to describe the horror I feel whenever I see that. It’s like a little part of my soul dies. Anyway…this polish is so pretty but I am going to say it again: what kind of weird ass name is Gorgeous Bling Bling? I do agree that essence is totally underrated. I guess that’s a good thing for me because then I am always able to get all the colors! I do like the polish and the stamping design–very pretty!

    • The name is so strange I’m almost starting to like it after thinking about it all this time. Where did they come up with that? And even if you’re weird and try to legitimately call your jewelry “bling bling” would you really call jewelry gorgeous? I mean maybe, but it just seems strange all around. Plus, bling bling… really? Who are you Puffy/Puff Daddy/P Diddy/ Diddy/ Sean Combs circa 2001? Whatever. I’m glad you liked my nails today, I thought yours were very cool. 🙂

Commenting is Caring!! ;D
