Sea Turtle Nails

Hey Everyone!

The highly hyped post is finally here! I hope you think it’s half as cute as I clearly think it is. I know I mentioned my friend/future sister-in-law earlier this week but I’m going to mention her again. This nail design also makes me think of her. Like I said, she’s obsessed with all things Hawaiian and she also LOVES sea turtles. She has a tattoo of one on her foot, and she just loves them- they’re her favorite animal. Let’s see the nails:

How to Get These Nails:

  • Start with my blue wavy nails
  • Use plate SE 21 and SH Insta-Dri Lickety-Split Lime to stamp the turtle on
  • Apply one healthy coat of Seche Vite

Aren’t these so cute?! I only wore them for a teeny while so I’m going to have to re-do them cuz I just LOVED them!! They were so easy to do and I think they look somewhat elaborate. Do you like them? I love the combination of blues and green and they make me want to go swimming! But then I remember that it’s still winter. :-/

Thank for you reading! And remember: commenting is caring! 😉

  1. *_* LOVE! I told myself I wouldn’t try the waves until spring, but these sea turtles are seriously tempting me! Imma buy a couple of the Insta Dry’s so I can mix up the colors on for the stamping kit.

    • Thank you!! I know my nails are super un-seasonal… but I don’t think I care! haha. I just loved the stamp and had to do SOMETHING with it. 😀 I’m glad you like them and I hope the Insta-Dris work as well for you as they do for me. The colors I have work just about as well as the Konad specials. **fingers crossed!!**

  2. Where did you get this plate?? I don’t think it is a konad plate is it?? I call my boyfriend turtle so I really wanted a plate with turtles on it!!

    • It’s sold as part of the Salon Essentials nail stamping kit that you can find at Sally’s, Rite-Aid and Bed Bath and Beyond. It has mixed reviews- I thought it worked great but lots of people don’t have the same luck. If you get it I hope it works for you cuz some of the designs are SUPER cute!! 🙂

      • Thanks for the reply. I just got it. I live in New Zealand so I don’t think we have any of those places here so I got them from ebay. Will let you know how I get on. Can’t wait to show my boyfriend tomorrow. He has no interest in my nails lol; But he will love if I put turtles on them just for him. So hope it work. P.s I love your Blog. Do you have a link to facebook. I don’t see one.

        • I bet he’ll love the turtle nails! 🙂 My husband acts as tho I’m poisoning him every time I remove and redo my nail polish, but he’s even admitted that he likes how my nails are always done. 😉 I hope it works out for you, do keep me posted! Thanks so much for the compliment and for reading and commenting. I do not have a FB page as of right now but I do have Twitter if you’re into that. (@polishmeplease) Thanks again! 🙂

  3. Hi Nicole. I Just thought I would drop by and give you an update on how I got on with the Salon Express plates. I only ever used the konad ones before but I did the sea turtles on my own nails and I did butterflies on my boyfriends moms nails and they both worked out just as well as with the konad ones. The designs are not as detailed as the konad ones but if you are looking for something in particular like I was I think they are great and are pretty much the same. And my boyfriend loved them. He thought it was really cute that I went to the trouble and he even gave all my nails a kiss lol.

    • Awwww that’s so cute!!! I’m so glad they worked out for you. They work fine for me as well but not everyone has the same luck. That was nice of you to go to the trouble of finding those turtle stamps especially since your bf likes them 🙂 Glad he liked your nails so much! 😀 Thanks for the update!!

  4. I want them! But I have no idea how to get a stamp like that. I live in Norway, so it’s not easy getting things like that
    Btw, you are AWESOME

    • Oh my gosh you are too sweet! I don’t know where you might get one either… can you order from amazon or possibly eBay? I don’t even know where to suggest. 😦

In other news- yay for Norwegians!!! I’m half Norwegian (my great grandparents came to the US) so I hope this doesn’t sound ridiculous or rude but I’m quite hyped a “real” Norwegian read my blog!

        • Or if you can order from the Sally’s website I know you can find them there. Just make sure you see a pic of the plates because there are 2 different Salon Express kits. I’m sure the shipping kills, tho, which is crappy.

More awesome?! Sweet! 😉 Glad my half Norwegian-ness is good for something in addition to making me blonde, slightly athletic and kinda tall! 😀
