My Big Fat Gypsy Nails

Good Morning Polished People!

Have you all seen My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding?! I just caught a glimpse of an episode this past weekend and I can’t get it out of my head! Those dresses are hideous and it’s like the girls/women SEEK OUT the gaudiest dresses I could ever imagine!!! Ick. And the bridesmaid dresses! Gross. It must have been that brief influence of MBFGW that caused me to think these nails were gonna do it for me. As you can tell… they, in fact, did not. Take a look and let me know what you think.

  1. Personally, I think your nails look awesome! I really like this pattern and the colors that you used. I’ve never watched that show, but it looks fantastically tacky. lol I cut my cable a couple of months ago and I thought I was going to miss it but I really don’t.

    • It is SO fantastically tacky!! Haha. And thanks! I was inspired by the stamping over glitter you did a while back and I wanted the blue stamp to pick up the blue in the holo glitter but then when it was done I was like “Oof.. Too much?” haha. I can’t believe YOU Ms. Non-glitter-lover like these! Glad you do tho! 🙂

      • Haha! I know. I do like glitter on other people just not on my nails. For someone who claims not to like glitter, I do have a crapload of glitter polishes. I got the wnw coloricon glitter collection last year and I do like it. It was so hard to find that it became like a challenge!

        • I hate reds and pinks and I still have a huge section of them in my nail polish tower. Go figure!
There’s definitely a little competitive piece in nail blogging… sometimes something comes out and everyone scrambles for it so I want it too! Haha. I don’t have any, but Lynnderellas are a prime example. I don’t mean to he a hater but some of those aren’t even that cool. They look like craft glitter. People who know how to franken could make them themselves, no problem.

            • Yes the Lynderella business is so crazy! There are some awesome indie polishes but I’m not gonna lie- the headache part scares me off a little! Luckily for you it seems like they’re all glitters so I guess you’re good to go! Haha.

    • Oh and PS: I think I could live without cable too. I have shows I like but I’d be just as happy with my music and some books. My husband works in the cable industry tho so we get it all for free. AND he’d NEVER survive! :p

      • Oh, lucky! The prices on cable and everything are so high! 😦 I have netflix on my wii and I am thinking of getting hulu plus. Once I get back to work, I barely even watch TV so I won’t miss it at all.

        • I know… It’s really a nice perk. Internet and everything is SUPER expensive. I’m not working much right now either, if I was busy like I’d like to be I wouldn’t even care if we had a TV. With Hulu and Netflix you’re pretty well set as well. 🙂

  2. OMG I looooove this. Seriously love this…does that mean I’m as tacky as the gypsy brides? Haha. I watched many episodes of that show when they’ve played back to back..its one of those things that are just horrible but you cant turn away. I think they’d like this mani if it had something battery powered attached to it 🙂
p.s. where do you get your RA plates from? I’ve only found a few on amazon but havent ordered any.

    • Uh ohhhh… You are an undercover gypsy!! You’re wearing a giant neon hoop skirt right now aren’t you?!? JK. 🙂 I’m glad you like these. I don’t hate them, they just made me think of those gypsy ladies immediately. Haha.

I got my Red Angel plates on Amazon. I got the 21 piece set for about $15. Some of the plates work better than others, and they’re definitely way deeper than my BM plates, but overall I’m pretty happy with them so far.
