Hey Polished People!
I’m glad to finally have the time to sit down and blog today! Gosh, I’ve been having these terrible stomach aches that are just completely debilitating and that last for like 8-9 hours, even when using Vicodin or Percocet so when I get one it completely makes me miss a day or two. Part of a day in pain and then finally sleeping (they come on between like 10pm and 7am so beside being in excruciating pain I can’t sleep) and then the next day is gone too because I’m recovering from the day before. Anyway, long story short I had a couple of episodes in the last several days so SURPRISE! nothing new here. π¦ The good news is that I saw a gastroenterologist yesterday and she thought it was my gallbladder. Well, as soon as I got home I researched gallbladder disease and EVERY SINGLE SYMPTOM described exactly what I have been experiencing. So… the good news is that I am on my way to having a diagnosis, the bad news is that a) I’ll have to have surgery and b) I have to wait for some more tests and given the severity and the frequency of my possible gall bladder attacks I’m worried it will burst. Anyway, I’m just gonna have to wait it out so cross your fingers for me!!! I’m scared of surgery but will be really happy when the pain is gone for good! π Now, enough of my stomach ache monologue- let’s get onto the nails!!! π
Green Tribal Nails:
How To Get These Nails:
- Use your favorite base coat. I used Essie Feed Me.
- Apply 2 coats of ChG Westside Warrior.
- Allow to dry slightly, apply 1 coat of Seche Vite or your other favorite top coat. Use another coat or two of top coat if you want stamping insurance. Allow your nails to dry thoroughly so you don’t gouge or as I say, smoosh your nails.
- Use stamp BM 221 and Konad special black polish to stamp the design on each nail.
- Apply another coat of top coat and voila! Lovely tribal print nails π
These nails were really easy except when it comes to getting that design right down the center of the nail. Getting it centered was hard!! You will see on some of the nails it gets pretty crooked but I still liked these. The good thing about using a dark green polish and black for stamping is that the contrast isn’t too high so even though the design is imperfect, it still looks presentable. These were fun to wear π
Have you done tribal nails? How did you do yours? Also, totally apart from nails- have any of you had or know someone who has had their gallbladder out? As always, thanks for reading and Happy Polishing!!!
Very cool. Loving that shade of green π
Thanks, I like it too. It’s a cool army/olive green color that’s easy to wear and suited this tribal print well I think. π Thanks for reading and commenting!
That’s terrible! The gallbladder removal, not the nails lol the nails are pretty! My brother in law had is gall bladder removed and he’s perfectly fine now, only thing is he has to be super careful with his diet and what he eats. My friend had very similar pains and they thought it was her gall bladder but it turned out to be gastritis with Celiac disease (gluten allergy). It was absolutely horrible seeing her go thru so much pain but now she’s healed and also has to watch her diet carefully. Anyways, good luck hun!!! I hope you feel better soon!
Geez I was like “I didn’t think the nails were THAT bad!!!” hahaha. Yeah the gall bladder business really sucks. The diet is cool- best diet ever! Haha. But I’d like to get it taken care of so I can eat SOME normal food. Right now I’m pretty much not eating anything. I just want it fixed so it doesn’t burst and get me really sick. That’s what I’m really afraid of.
The doctor wants to do a scope and biopsy of my stomach to check for that Celiac’s Disease but they can’t do that till the end of the month and idk if I can/should wait that long. I think I’m gonna insist they just do the blood test to check for that and get me moving towards surgery after this scan on Wednesday. Thanks for the info! π I appreciate it.
If it gallbladder disease, you can minimize the pain attacks by not eating any fatty food. Anything fried will definitely trigger an attack. I had to learn the hard way. I had my gallbladder out in 2007 and it was a horrible experience because of my stupid HMO. I went to the ER the first time I had pains and they confirmed it was gall stones. They told me to not eat any fatty food and gave me a referral to see a surgeon. Well, it was going to take 1 week to see the surgeon so I was being careful about my diet. Then one day I ate white rice and a piece of grilled salmon. That did me in. The pain did not stop for hours and I was at work. I went home and got in bed hoping it would pass but it didn’t. I went to the ER again and they admitted me. By that time, the stones had escaped and were blocking my bile duct or something like that. I ended up spending a week in the hospital. First they had to fish some of the renegade stones out by putting a tube down my throat. Then they had to normalize my system before I had the surgery. Good news is that the surgery is usually laprascopic and I had minimal pain afterwards. I had surgery on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday. I’m sorry about the pain…it really sucks. I hope it is gallstones and not something more serious and that your doctor gets on top of it so you can start feeling better. I don’t mean to scare you with my gallstone nightmare story!
Oh and the nails: awesome! I don’t have any bundle moster plates because I keep reading they are super sharp and I know I’ll slice my fingers cause I’m a klutz. Do you find them sharp? I really like BM designs so it’s a bummer.
Oh, and if you do get your gallbladder removed, it is a huge pain in the ass to get used to it afterwards. I mean, we don’t really need our gallbladder but it does process fat/cholesterol so you will probably have some “discomfort” when you eat certain foods. Running to the bathroom was a common occurrence the first few months…but after a while it goes away. Oh, the joys of not having your gb!
Mannn not to be too informative/disgusting here but I would love to just have diarrhea instead of this unrelenting pain! It lasts 8-9 hours and I’ve been getting them every 2 days. OUCH! (that’s an understatement) Thanks for all the info. I’m scared of the surgery but the pain is so bad, whatever I feel like post-surgery can’t be anything compared to this pain. I just don’t want to wait too much longer cuz I’m scared it will burst. I have to have this scan on Wednesday that’s going to basically make me have an episode, which I am seriously dreading. π¦ The pain is so severe that it’s hard to describe but it makes me feel crazy. Like I feel like I would do ANYTHING to stop the pain. I take percocet and lay in the bathtub which is already fairly unsafe, but it makes me feel so desperate. They’ve gotta figure this out for me, cuz I’m missing work, and LIFE. Not being able to eat fatty foods is mostly cool with me. I’ll miss ice cream but I can sub frozen yogurt, but like I said ANYTHING is worth not having this pain. Right now I’m trying to manage it just by eating as low fat of foods as I can manage and trying to take it easy… we’ll see how that works for me. I haven’t had one for 2 days so guess what? … I’m due. π¦ Thanks for all the info. I’m sorry you went through so much with it and had to stay in the hospital for so long. Hopefully I’ll just be in and out in a day like what is “supposed” to happen. Fingers crossed!!! First step though is getting a diagnosis and scheduling surgery! (fingers and TOES crossed!!) haha. Thanks again!
PS: Thanks for the compliment on these nails. My bundlemonster plates aren’t sharp at all. I mean, they’re metal so they have an edge but I just slid my finger around the edge of the one I used and it’s not sharp at all. It’s not rounded but I think it’d be pretty unlikely that anyone could cut themselves using it. Idk if there are older/newer plates that are sharper but mine are cool. They have a paper backing and stuff just like the Konad plates. I don’t have any Konad plates though so I can’t compare the sharpness. I think they’d be worth trying and if they’re sharp you could return them. But I certainly don’t want you to cut yourself!! Hope this helps. π
Oh no, I hope you have this taken care of soon π¦ I’m terrified of surgery too, but sometimes you have no choice if you want to get better. Your nails on the other hand look really cute!
Thank you. I hope so too! It’s so painful and scary. Not to mention it makes me miss work and anything/everything else. I can’t plan on anything cuz if I get one it’s all over. π¦ Thanks for the compliment on my nails. It’s hard to get this design straight but luckily it doesn’t look TOO bad. π
