Hey There Polished People!
I have had a busy and honestly quite stressful and irritating last 7 or so days and therefore was not properly prepared for today’s nail entry. I usually plan my nails in advance, try them out, sometimes make changes, photograph them, write up the post and schedule it for when I want it to go live. Well, today I’m putting this together way after it needed to go live. Whoops!! So, I hope you like the design I did late last night while I should have been sleeping for work. π This is not what I had in mind, but it’s what I ended up doing. I had an idea of what I wanted to do… which turned out to be a total disasticure, so I ended up with this. Have a peek at the design I finally got on my nails:
Violet Dip Dye Nails
I got the idea for this design when I saw the tutorial by Simple Nail Art Designs on YouTube. Click here to go to her YouTube channel and find this tutorial. This design was super easy and even thought mine didn’t turn out perfect, it still looks pretty cool. The colors I used were: SH Celeb City (silver), OPI Planks a Lot, Ulta Celebutante, OPI Grape Set Match, Orly Mysterious Curse and SH Diamonds (glitter top coat). I also used Seche Vite dry fast top coat.

Let me know what you think of these nails! Do you like them better with or without the glitter topper? I’m not really sure. I did them really quickly last night so I hope you think they turned out ok!! If you have any questions about the design, since this is such a quick post, please don’t hesitate to ask. π Thanks for reading and till next time- Happy Polishing!! π
Very pretty! I like ink drip-esque this is!
Thank you! It does kind of look like drips! It’s a lot like Alaina’s blue nails actually now that I’m thinking about it. It’s such a cool and simple effect. π
I like the glitter, I think it adds something to it.
Thank you. I was torn.. part of me loved the glitter, then part of me thought it was too cluttered. You should have seen it when I mattified it just for fun tonight with this new matte tc I got… it looked awesome. It chilled out the shimmer and let you really focus on the different colors. I wish I would have been able to get a picture!! π¦
I was actually going to ask about mattifying it. Great minds think alike π
Yeah I wish I’d got a picture. It looked so cool!!
Definitely love the look of this, Nicole! π
Me too!! I wish I’d picked a little more contrasting shades but how it turned out was pretty cool too. π Thanks!! π
i like these nails, they look very good π
Thank you! π
Love em!
Thank you very much!! π
Love these! I love the way the colors flow together, almost like its dripping. Very cool!
Thank you! I have to try it with slightly more contrasting colors. It’s such a cool, AND EASY!, effect. π
I didn’t realize that the very bottom layer is silver! I think you did a great job on your color selection & placement. It’s hard to tell the difference between the topcoat and no topcoat, so I guess I could go either way! You have, however, now reminded me that I have Sally Hansen Diamonds!
Yeah the glitter topcoat is so fine it doesn’t make that much of a difference. I’ll have to remember that because that’s a good thing for lots of designs. π I’m glad you liked these, thanks!
Oh my god this is gorgeous!
I love your response! Haha. Thank you!
How did I miss these… gorgeous! I have got to try this.
Thank you!! You should definitely give them a try.. I bet they’ll turn out so awesome!! π
