Hey There Polished People!
For Stamping Saturday today I want to share the nails I wore for my “dirty thirty” birthday party last week. It wasn’t all that dirty, to be honest. I had a strict NO STRIPPERS rule even before we knew there would be some kids there, but then of course the kids cemented that which I was happy about. Strippers just are not for me. For one- duuuuude/girrrrl, I KNOW you aren’t working your way through med school so don’t even. And two- I don’t like to be the center of attention and well, that’s kinda inevitable in that situation. Also as a bonus point- ew. Annnnnyway- my party had a light late 80s/ early 90s theme to the decorations so we had some slap bracelets and some I ❤ the 80s sunglasses for party favors and we had neon-ish decorations. It was really a lot of fun and I was happy that almost all of my friends could make it, and I even made a couple new friends which is always nice. To kinda match the theme, I wanted to go with neon nails, but I had to do them EXTRA quick so let's see what I ended up with, shall we?
This is how they were, pre-stamp-
How To Get These Nails
•Base coat.
•Paint your nails white. I like to use my favorite, Nina Ultra Pro French White
•Let the white dry for a few minutes and then use three of your favorite bright polishes (I used ChG That’s Shore Bright and Aquadelic and the orange from the Julie G Cruise collection) to make the distressed stripes by wiping most of the polish off of your brush and just messily swiping it down your nail. Easy peazy.
•Top with Seche Vite and allow to dry thoroughly to prepare for the stamping.
•When your nails are dry, use Konad special black polish and BM414 to stamp on the design. Top with more Seche and you’re done! 🙂
I hope you like how they turned out. They weren’t exactly neon like I initially wanted but for some super quick nails, I was pretty impressed! I don’t have any complaints! As always, thank you all so much for reading and commenting and till next time- Happy Polishing!! These look great! Love the distressed look under the stamping.
Thank you! And you just can’t get why quicker.. Well, leave off the stamping but yknow… 😉
Happy birthday. I love 80s inspired manis. Yours turned out fab!
Thanks so much! It’s fun to kinda have a theme to shoot for. 🙂
Nics, I love your story about the no stripper rule. I think your nails look awesome and it sounds like you had a wonderful birthday party!
It was really fun. Kind of a lot of work to put together and w a 7 month old it was harder than expected but everything turned out well and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. 🙂 Thanks!
That is one of my favorite stamps! I like how this turned out.
Me too. I really “needed” more just geometric type stamps. I really like this BM CYO set.
Eish Nics! These rock!
Thanks!!! I love this stamp. 🙂 I think it lends itself to multiple colors underneath.
Happy birthday!! I loved these distressed nails. Ii did distressed nails today, but i dont like the results very much
Thanks!!! I think the distressed nails are fun but I liked mine better w the stamp over top. I have a hard time getting them uniform looking.
I love this combo! Plus I swear I had a pair of leggings in the actual late 80s/early 90s that looked exactly like this. So… triple points for legitimacy. ^^
Haha thanks! Triple points to you for coolness! 😉
I really really really like them. I like them before the stamp and with the stamping.
Thanks!!! I recently got last years create your own BM stamps and I love em.
