Textured Tuesday!

Hey There Polished People!

One of the few things I don’t particularly like about textured polish is that I feel like they’re kind of one trick ponies. I didn’t really think they were great for nail art of any sort, but lately I have seen some really cute nail art done using them including but not limited to stamping, freehand stuff, and tape manis. I decided to give it a go for this weekly event. I did a fairly simple tape mani using Zoya Lux (Magical Pixie) and Zoya Rue (Disclosure: both are press samples) but I really loved how it turned out. I hope you like it! 🙂

Be sure to check out everyone else’s textured Tuesday manis on The Fancy Side! Also, if you’d like to join in on the fun, you can find the linkup there on her page.

Did you notice my nails are oval now instead of square?? How do you like them? What are some other fun ways you have used (or have seen others use) textured polishes? As always thank you so much for reading and commenting and till next time- Happy Polishing!!

    • Thank you very much!! They were SO WEIRD to begin with, but as I look through manis from last week (pre-oval) to post I’m thinking I like the ovals better, too! I’m surprised.

    • Thank you very much! I wasn’t sure I would like the oval nails but I think I have more moments when I like them than moments when I do not so for now- they stay. They’re just nails anyway so why not try something different. 😉

    • Thank you!! I have on some kinda pastel glitter over china glaze aquadelic so right now they look like Easter eggs, but I’m not exactly hating that either. It’s your cute nails, and Jessica’s suggestion’s fault. 😉

    • Thanks! I used some striping tape that I bought on amazon for a few bucks and you get 30 assorted rolls. I’m pretty sure I will never have to buy striping tape again.

  1. Textured manis/pedis are kind of tricky, I suppose, unless one wears a good topcoat, I’d never want one. However, they can be gorgeous. 🙂 Also.. it’s nice to experiment, but your nails look better in their square shape. ^^; Oval shaped nails look like they’re supposed to blend in more, which is kind of boring, whereas square-shaped nails are a bit edgier, and look much classier and cuter! That, please do not ever make your nails like those hideous squared, non-parallel ick that some celebs have, how on Earth that ever became a trend is beyond me, but.. you don’t even have to try it, mkay? 😛

    • Are you talking about the weird like slanted-tip nails where the right side is longer than the left (or vice versa)? I will NOT be trying that. I gravitate towards the square nails a little more because, well, they look fake and I like that they’re actually not. Is that a weird thing to say?? And I agree w you that they’re more, like, standoutish (clearly a technical term), which I also like. The ovals are kinda fun though and I do like switching it up so we’ll see how long they last!

  2. Well, like.. my opinion is my opinion, you just have fun, mkays? Also.. I meant like, when the nails’ edges are not parallel, so they get wider as they pass the tip of your finger, and they resemble an upside-down triangle. SO hideous!

    • Oh no!! The duck nails!!!! Yes, ok now I totally get what you meant by them not being parallel. Those are the worst. I can absolutely promise you that you will NEVER see my nails in that shape. Something new is kinda fun, something my nightmares are made of is decidedly NOT. ;p
