Ninja Polish Mystic Glacier Swatches and Review

Hey There Polished People!

I recently got back from my road trip and now it’s time for my summer job to start. For the summer I work at a parks program where I run activities for kids from toddler-aged to highschool-aged and also serve prepared lunches at noon. It’s a pretty fun job, and I like being outside all summer, but the beginning of the summer especially is a little hectic and stressful. It starts today so as I type this up Sunday night, I’m not feeling all too chatty. This is a good thing actually because I have approximately a bazillion photos of this polish to share with you, so… let’s get to it!

I’m not even going to label all the different light levels because there are just so many ways that this polish changes depending on the lighting.

Color:

Ninja Polish Mystic Glacier is a blueish jelly with lots of shimmer particles. The shimmer particles seem to shift between a fire-y copper-type color and turquoise-green. The blue jelly shifts colors as well, sometimes looking quite dark, and sometimes looking sheer and icy. As you can see in the pictures, the combination of the shifty shimmer and the shifty jelly base make this polish an absolute chameleon. Sometimes it’s that dark blue (like the first picture) with the coppery/gold shimmer, then it’s a purple color around the edges and blue/green in the middle, then you look and the whole nail is the most perfect Caribbean sea blue. Mystic Glacier is a fitting name because it does look like, well, a Mystic Glacier. πŸ˜‰

Formula/Application:

Excellent. No problem with application, wear was good, I have no complaints at all. The polish dries a little satin-y, similar to a neon, so you’ll want some shiny topcoat, but who doesn’t use topcoat anyway?!

Yes, Please! or No, Thank You:

Yes, Please! You should definitely beg, borrow or steal to get your hands on this polish. Alright, well maybe hold off on the stealing cuz I doubt you can paint your nails in jail and wouldn’t that just be ironic? Seriously though, I would definitely save some of your nail polish budget and buy this next time it’s in stock on the Ninja Polish site. I have never seen anything quite like it and it’s really so fun to wear that you will never regret this purchase. If you do buy it, make sure to wear it for a couple of days at least so you can see all the different transformations in all the different types of light.

I first saw this polish on Lacquer Me Silly and after seeing Frosso’s pictures I knew I had to have it. I am so glad I picked it up. Thank you sincerely Frosso, for the totally righteous enabling. I hope everyone enjoyed my pictures of Mystic Glacier! Let me know in the comments if you’re as in love with it as I am, or if for some freakish reason this is just not your cup of tea (kidding about the “freakish” bit, but only a little). As always, thank you all for reading and till next time- Happy Polishing!! πŸ™‚

  1. i’ve thought this colour is awesome from the first time Fross posted about it. It’s a winter colour but a great summer colour too. It’s fab! Also your summer job sounds pretty damn awesome!!

    • It really is a good gig. It’s especially nice just working on my own for the most part w only a quick check in w a supervisor once a week or so. And yes, isn’t this color just wonderful??

    • Ugh I know?!? Isn’t it just almost too much?? And you’d never know just from looking at it in the bottle. It’s amazing really, nail polish magic.

  2. I’m sooooo glad you got your hands on this! Now you can fully understand the amazingness of it all πŸ˜€ Your swatches make me want to wear it again. That actually might happen today…I’ve kept the bottle on my desk in clear sight incase I have a sudden urge to wear it.

    • I’m going to need to wear it again sometime soon too. I’m so glad you shared it because it’s just quite possibly the world’s most wonderful polish.

    • Thank you so much!! Wow that’s an incredible compliment. It’s really an awesome polish, if you should get the opportunity definitely pick it up. πŸ™‚

  3. ooooooo I need this in my life, I have Alexandrite which I LOVE and I love this just the same, It finally came back in stock the other day right after I got my other beauties from her shop 😦

  4. this polish is so beautiful that i want it right now.. it is perfect. this is the kind of polish i was expecting of the china glaze i bought last year.. meeh you can’t have everything in life.

    • Yes she ordered hers before me, got it in the mail after me, but then for her swatches up first. If it was a race, she won. πŸ˜‰ This polish is so great- you just can’t possibly see enough of it!

    • You’re welcome for enabling you!! Haha. Make sure to get on the restock email list if you want this, these polishes tend to be in then out then in then out… which can be a little annoying but this polish is definitely worth a little waiting. πŸ™‚

  5. I think this will have to be the mani of the week after I get back from my next conference, since you, Frosso, and Cynthia have all taken it for a whirl! I am wondering if I should try it over something or not…hmm…
Good luck & have fun at work!

    • That’s an interesting thought. When I layered it over ChG Sexy In The City is deemed to kill a little of the depth and color shiftiness but brought out a lot of blue. It would be interesting to see this layered. Maybe over white? Black? Chartreuse? (Just kidding about that last one!!) Hey- I didn’t see those leopard print nails yet!!

      • I know…my middle finger was being a turd. :p I have a holo on that and the ring finger (the leopard fingers) and it chipped instantly, so I wanted to fix it before I took a photo. Hopefully today! πŸ™‚

        • I saw them! They looked good! πŸ™‚ I hate when something chips so quickly. I stupidly didn’t take a picture of my tie dye nails right away and wore them to work for two days, well on the second day I was opening the lunch tote things (they hold all the bagged lunches along with an ice pack to keep things “cool”) and I totally chipped like the ENTIRE CORNER off my ring finger nail, ON MY LEFT HAND!! AGHHH! So when I post pictures of those, you’re going to see some not-so-clever disguising. 😦

  6. Is Bubba still going to be at this summer program? I always liked how he commented on your nails. haha Weeeeeeelllll…you know how I feel about this polish, and you know as soon as Frosso posted it, we wanted it because we all have wonderful taste. Ahhh….so pretty and so obnoxious. I can’t wait to wear it again.

    • Wonderful taste is right!!! πŸ˜‰ And yes, he has already tweeted me saying he’ll even walk if he has to to be there. Haha. Too cute. I’m going to wear my sorta-tie-dye nails again tomorrow so we’ll see if he likes then or not. I got a LOT of compliments today, and had to give the lady at ace hardware and the lady at Staples super quick tutorials. I hope all the kids and mani-inspector Bubba like em tomorrow!
