Halloween Glitter Layering

Hey There Polished People!

There are lots of pretty Halloween polishes out there and several of them are glitters. You may remember reading my reviews of Orly RIP and ChG Glitter Goblin, and I think I’ve mentioned ChG Make A Spectacle in the past as well. I thought I’d quickly share a couple of my glitter layering combos that I’ve done when I don’t feel like wearing anything too nail art-y. Let’s see em!

ChG Glitter Goblin Over Black and Orange

The above nails use OPI Flit A Bit and FP Black Expressionism for the orange and black. πŸ™‚ I like how the indirect lighting pictures really show the different colors in the nail polish. πŸ™‚

ChG Make A Spectacle Over Orange

This is Make A Spectacle over half of each nail painted with OPI Flit A Bit. I love ChG Make A Spectacle!! It’s so versatile. It has a greenish translucent hue but over a medium color like this it just looks kinda goldish and sparkly. Over a pastel it just adds some interest, and over a dark color it looks so beautiful and really picks up some of the colors of the polish you later it over. I will be wearing this polish all year, not just around Halloween.

Glitter is such an easy way to spice up your mani without going to a lot of trouble, and anyone who wears glitter knows that glitter wears like armor which is a plus if you wear your polish for several days in a row. Als0, wearing glitter in a thin layer or two over creme polish makes it really easy to remove- no foil necessary! πŸ™‚

What are your easy, go-to Halloween nails? Do you even like to dress your nails up for Halloween? Let me know which of these two glitter combos is your favorite. πŸ™‚ As always, thanks for reading and till next time- Happy Polishing!! πŸ˜€

  1. These look awesome! Half and half manis was what I first tried that was different when I was in high school lol. I love these! Glitter definitely is an easy way to add a little something to your mani! πŸ˜€

    • I’m absolutely loving the half and half mani. I’m late to the party I guess! Haha. I don’t particularly LOVE this look, I think I’d like GG better just over one color but I do love the half and half look. And glitter is always a quick way to spruce up. πŸ˜‰

  2. I don’t like the first one but I loooooooooooooove the second one. I think that MAS makes the polish look like it has shiny craters. lol I love it. I had passed on this but now I’m thinking I will get it because it’s not just a “Halloween” polish.

    • It’s actually not Halloweeny at all really it’s just so awesome! After wearing this over Mysterious Curse I think I have to say this is my favorite. It is soooo beautiful over MC. Wait till you see it! πŸ™‚ I totally agree w liking it over the orange. It doesn’t even really look like glitter exactly, just looks very cool. πŸ™‚

  3. I like the black/orange/glitter combo the best πŸ™‚ Glitter Goblin looks so pretty…I’m so anxious to use mine its killing me! It’s been dark and cloudy the past two days and now it’s the eve of hurricane Sally so I’m not about to waste Glitter Goblin’s awesome holographicness if I’ll just be sitting in the dark.

    • Glitter Goblin is so pretty. I don’t think the half and half was the best execution but it’s just so pretty. I think I’d like it best just over black… Or in a grey jelly sandwich or maybe over skull and glossbones…. I just love it. Use yours!! πŸ™‚

  4. I’m having a hard time picking a favorite! I think I like that I can see the Halloween colors in the glitter in the first one, but like the subtley of the second one.
Oddly, I don’t really do “Halloween” nails. I did them last year to match my costume and will be doing the same this year. So they’re done for Halloween, but not in a traditional black and orange way.

    • Last year when my blog was just in its premature infancy I did a couple of Halloween nails… maybe only one… anyway but I do think they’re fun. πŸ™‚ When I’ve dressed up I do my nails to go w my costume of course but I never dress up as anything that really needs a specific look. 😦 I can’t wait to see your costume and nails!
