Hey Everyone,
I am a big fan of orange. It’s my favorite color, has been for a long time, my kitchen is painted orange, I dyed my hair orange in middle school, as I look around my house right now I see lots of orange stuff. I just love it. Being that I love orange so much you’d think I’d have orange nails all day every day.. but that’s not quite the case. I find a good orange polish is hard to come by. Well I have found my perfect polish. I introduce you to my new polish bff…
Finger Paints Tangerine Tint:
Color:
Tangerine Tint is the perfect tangerine creme polish. It’s saturated yet slightly soft, but far from pastel. It’s the perfect summer orange. I liked it so much that I wore it for one day by itself and then wore it for the second day with some OPI Pirouette My Whistle over the top π
Formula/Application:
Totally non-problematic. Goes on smooth, opaque in one careful coat but I like two. I love this polish.
Yes, Please! or No, Thank You:
YES, PLEASE!! Gimme this polish! If you like orange AT ALL you need this. Finger Paints is a surprisingly awesome brand and almost all their polishes are super-saturated and awesome. This is no exception and I love love love love it! Get Tangerine Tint now! π
What’s your favorite color? Do you find yourself wearing that color of polish often? Do you have a color of polish you just DON’T wear? As always, thanks for reading and Happy Polishing!!! π
Ha, I’m wearing kind of similar nails right now! Last night I used FInger Paints Circus Peanuts and put Cult Nails Captivated over it. I didn’t realize that Captivated has a colored base, so they are really neon! If you have that one, you should try it over Tangerine Tint!
Almost nail twins!! Captivated is the new flaky top coat, right? I don’t have that one (only clairvoyant) but I do have all the FP flakies so I could give that a go. If you have twitter you should tweet me a pic! That sounds super cute! I just love this color and Circus Peanuts looks really similar. Maybe a little more pinkish but right in that same realm. I keep hearing things about circus peanuts. I’d never even heard of them before and then now just this week one person said they’re one of her favorite things and now you’re wearing CP nail polish making me think about them again. Have you ever actually ate them? Apparently they’re not actually peanuts. They’re some sort of foam-looking candy food. Well I’m assuming they’re candy. Hmm… verrrrry interesting! ;p
Thanks for all your comments! π
Captivated is like a…color-shifting orange/yellow glitter in an orange base. If you use the Finger Paints Flashy flakie with the Tangerine Tint polish, it’d probably look pretty similar.
I’m not on Twitter currently, but may look into getting set up (I’ll be on a business trip next week and may be bored, haha). Another way to follow my nail blog obsession!
Circus Peanuts is maybe a little more pastel than Tangerine Tint, but it’s a pretty cool color. Kind of sherbert, but like a bright pastel.
I agree that Finger Paints is a surprisingly awesome brand. I bought my first ones recently, the entire Spring collection at Sally’s. I’ve used Blue Raspberry Taffy, Mint Chocolate Chip (with the green Zoya flakie topcoat, it was awesome), and Circus Peanuts…still need to use Lemon Drop, Grape Gumball, and Pop Rock Pink. They’ve all been amazing…almost one-coaters!
Circus peanuts are a real thing! I have had them, probably only a few times in my life. Most people completely detest them, but they are worth trying just for the experience. They are difficult to explain due to the texture and taste. Kind of a somewhat firmer marshmallow texture and the taste is…really sugary, but with like a weird bite to it? You have to try them just because…you can usually find them in like the drugstore brand candy section, you know, like the 99 cent type.
Hmm I imagine I’ll make a face like a dog licking sandpaper when I try them. Haha. I will see if they have them tho next time I go to rite aid. You should definitely get twitter. It’s a fun way to follow your favorite blogs. π The first FP polish I got chipped right away so I almost wrote them off but I tried it again and the first time must have been a fluke. Cuz ever since I’ve had great luck! They’re all so nice! And inexpensive. π
Oh I love this orange π This looks great on you! I was iffy about orange on my nails before, but I remember first trying it and it’s such a lovely color!
Thanks. I just love orange and this one is perfecto! π How come you don’t like to wear orange? I really love OPI Roll in the Hague but it stains my cuticles so bad that I don’t even wanna use it! I kinda wanna get Essie Orange Its Obvious and see if it’s easier to work w. π
I don’t know…I should though! lol. It really is a nice color. I’ll do an orange post for you sometime soon hehe π
Does that OPI stain even with a base coat? I remember using this green OPI that my friend has and omg it stained my nails so bad even with a base coat…
It didn’t stain my nails so much as my cuticles and any skin it touched even momentarily. I haven’t used it since I swatched it for that reason but I just remember thinking it was so sad that such a pretty color was so obnoxious. π¦ Some nail polishes are so bad about staining. OPI Fly is another dangerous one. Granted I didn’t wear base coat but I only wore it literally for 1 minute on 4 fingers and mannn was I sorry! Smurf hands are not in style. Haha. Ooh now I’m gonna look forward to your future possible orange post! π
As far as orange/tangerine polishes from FP, my favorite is Michael Tangelo. I haven’t worn it this spring yet but I wore it all summer last year and I love it. I used to almost always wear purple nail polish until I started branching out some more.
Oooh I was thinking about you when I did tomorrow’s nails. I hope you like them! And I’ll have to look into Michael Tangelo cuz I looooove a just-right orange polish π
