Matte Holo- An Interesting Effect

Hey Everyone,

I hope you all are having a good week 🙂 I just have a quick post here to show you what Layla Flash Black looks like when it’s mattified! I thought it might have a cool effect but as it turns out it just mutes the holo effect. Considering some people say different top coats mute the effect I guess I should have known. Oh well, it was still kinda interesting and I wore it for… like 20 minutes 😉

Matted Flash Black:

In the above pictures I am wearing 3 coats of Flash Black with one coat of Essie Matte About You over the top.

Let me know what you think about matted holos. Have any of you tried or seen anything different with holos that I should try? Let me know what you think! Till next time, Happy Polishing!!

  1. I like how this looks…I am a huge matte fan. I put Seche Vite and Poshé on these holos and I didn’t notice that it dulled the holo effect. I had hoped that it would make the polish last longer but it was still chip-alicious. 😦

    • Aaaaagh! The chipaliciousness is ridiculous! I actually kinda liked this matte, too. It muted the holo-ness but was still cool. I, too, LOVE matte nails but like NEVER do them! Whyyyyy?!

    • Me too! It’s really cool how it makes like a medium purple look all frosty and lavender. I don’t do matte nails enough. I should do more!

    • What?! No! It is not complete!! Ride that bike of yours to Ulta now and get your hands on this! Use a coupon tho (which I didn’t- dumb!!!) and get it for 12 bucks! 😉
