Good Morning Polished People!!
I ordered the Red Angel 21 piece nail stamping plate set on Amazon last week and just got them in the mail on Friday. I was excited to get them because a) I’m excited to get anything besides bills (ha) and b) they have lots of different designs that I don’t currently have with my Bundle Monster plates. (Weed leaves anyone?? Seriously, that’s not even a joke… you stoner nail ladies out there will be pleased.) I was so excited to get them that I immediately tried a design that made me think of playing cards, but I had some problems. I’ll let you take a look and maybe any of you who have the RA plates can shed a little light on this for me.
House of Cards Nails:
These nails are SH Rapid Red over FP Black Expressionism using RA 203. Now, my problem is that, as you can see, the design has some empty spots. I usually don’t have much of a problem with nail stamping plates but for some reason these plates just would NOT allow me to get a perfect stamp! I thought maybe the red over black just wasn’t working… maybe my red was a little too thin or…? So I painted my nails with the SH Rapid Red and stamped the same design on them using the Konad special black polish (aka: fail-proof stamping polish).
As you can see…. still spotty! The only thing I can think is that since these plates’ designs are etched deeper than my Bundle Monster plates (you’ll notice how much deeper if you get these, they TEAR UP my cotton balls!) maybe the polish has a hard time coming out of the design and onto the stamper…? I have no clue. I want these all to work so well so it’s leaving me thinking “It’s not you, Red Angle stamps… it must be me!” When I try out the different designs I’ll keep you posted on how well they work. Cross your fingers for me! š

Polish Me, Please! 
This is what I’m afraid of when buying non-konad plates. I have heard that either they are too deep or not deep enough so the images don’t come out as well. However, I think the BM plates are pretty good. I’ll probably take the jump and get them sometime soon now that the Konad plates are no longer cheap! š¦
That’s the whole reason I DONT have the Konad plates. I don’t have any… I just can’t justify how much they cost when I can get something similar through Bundlemonster or Red Angle for a fraction of the price. This design doesn’t hold much hope, but I tried some other designs and they seemed to work well. I guess it’s kinda a toss up. The BM ones are really good tho. And not sharp like these ones are. These also don’t have a paper backing and scratch the heck out of whatever you sit them on (they’re like 1/16th of an inch too large for the plate holders, fyi).
