Good Morning!!
The best way to update a tired manicure is to use the current color as a base and add something to it. I sometimes add a chevron, or I stamp something over it. You could also add a little design with a nail art pen or striping brush, or add a coat of glitter. After wearing my green Navigate Her nails I showed you yesterday, I wanted to do a little green-on-green stamping over the top. I also wanted something kind of organic-looking to go with the whole green-on-green, spring color motif I had going on. This is what I decided to do:
Green-On-Green Organic Print Nails:
How To Get These Nails:
- Base coat those bad boys.
- Apply 2-3 coats Essie Navigate Her.
- Apply 1 coat of your favorite top coat. Allow to dry thoroughly.
- (Bonus step) If you want stamping insurance, apply several coats of top coat, allowing each to dry slightly before you apply the next. This gives you a thick layer of clear polish so that if you make a mistake with your stamp placement you can use a cotton ball soaked in remover to quickly remove the stamped image but keep your base color perfect.
- Use BM 210 and ChG Westside Warrior to stamp the leafy design on each nail.
- Apply 1 careful coat of top coat, making sure not to go over the stamped design twice in one spot.
- Voila! Lovely green nails!! š I LOVE THESE!!!
I wore these nails for a couple of days and adding the design helped me to get a LOT more life out of my green nails. I love Navigate Her’s color so I was glad I could stretch out my green nail days š
What do you do to revive a flat-lining manicure? If you have or have ever had fake nails, do/did you usually leave them how your nail tech does them or do you paint over your nails a billion times between appointments? When I had fake nails I was messing with them every five seconds and never really liked how the nail lady did them… I was probably the biggest waste of fake nails ever!! Haha. Let me know if you’re the same way! Till next time, Happy Polishing!! š
Loooove the stamping. It really does have an organic look to it, so pretty. I need to start buying BM plates soon.
Thank you! I loved these nails too. š Now we aren’t nail twins tho Are you even still wearing Navigate Her?
Haha, no…I’m horrible, I change my nail color every night >.< It's the only way I can make a dent in my untrieds.
Haha.. I understand that! I don’t even THINK about the nail polishes I haven’t tried or swatched. š
I just tagged you in my last post š http://maesbeauty.wordpress.com/2012/03/30/tag-youre-it/
Oooh yay! Thanks! š
Beautiful stamping! I love the combination of greens!
Thanks! Me too! I’ve been in a nail polish slump lately so I was happy when I finally liked these latest nails. š
Ohmygodyoucrazynaillady. These nails look amazing. I am jealous at how pretty these came out. I think Navigate Her looks kinda sickly on me so I haven’t worn it since I swatched it, but it looks awesome on you. I am going to have to make a list of regular nail polishes that work for stamping. I am always way too scared to try it because I’m afraid of ruining my mani with a crappy stamp color.
Thank youuu!!! I liked it a lot too. Lots of my ChG polishes work well for stamping, which is SO NICE. I always just put on a TON of top coat so that if I try a stamp and don’t like it I can just take the stamp off, leave the base color and try again. I do this alllll the time. š
