Today I have Essie Dive Bar for you:
Color:
According to the Essie website, Dive Bar is a “blackest blue with shimmer.” I say it’s a super dark metallic teal. It’s close to black but not quite. In the bottle it looks extra shimmery and as if there’s a little duochrome effect going on with a little purple or blue at the edges but I think that’s just an effect of the square bottle. On the nail it’s a dark, slightly shimmery teal. It’s interesting though because in low light it can look like a navy creme, but in bright light it definitely looks like the metallic teal that it is.
Formula:
A little thin but non-problematic.

The color is nice, I like the darkness with a little shimmer but between NOPI’s Khloe Had A Little Lam Lam, LA Girl Deep Sea Mica, and Wet n Wild’s Teal of Fortune I’m pretty well covered in the dark teal category. For me this is a No, Thank You, but if you don’t have any of the other polishes I mentioned, get this one cuz it IS really pretty. 🙂
