I love these nails so much, I’m just gonna show them to you, then talk: (don’t forget to enlarge to get a better view!)
Behold the lovely colors and peacock-esque print ๐
You may not believe me but except for drying time, these were SUPER fast and easy.
For these nails I used:
- Essie Feed Me base coat
- OPI (Nicki Minaj Collection!!!) Fly for the base
- Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Pronto Purple for the stamping
- Blue Migi nail art pen to fill in the tiny spot in the middle of each printed shape
- OPI clear top coat
- Seche Vite
- Sally Hansen Mega Shine
I would be more than happy to provide a tutorial for these if anyone is interested, but if no one cares for one I will just let you do this your way if you should want to try it. Please leave a comment asking for a tutorial if you’re interested and I’ll add to this post. I will tell you now that I used very much the same method as I did for my animal print nails, so if you’d like to read that, click here and you can apply that method to this design. But seriously,ย I would be happy to do a tutorial if anyone wants one. Anyway, I hope you like these as much as I do! ๐ I’m a little conflicted because I sort of want to add a little holo glitter at the tips, but I’m not sure if that would add that extra something or just take away from the design. I might have to try it…
Thanks for reading, have a fun and safe New Year’s Eve!!
~Nicole
Edit:
Before I went out last night for NYE, I added a little glitter like I had thought about earlier. I sponged on just the tiniest bit of holographic glitter in a clear base. I used my LA Colors unnamed glitter. Here are the pics:
I can’t tell you how much I LOVE these nails! I really want to swatch my Nicki Minaj nail polishes, but I just can’t bring myself to take these nails off yet. Maybe tomorrow night. Do you like them with the glitter? Do you like them best without? Let me know what you think using the comment form below! ๐
This looks so amazing. I would love to know how you did it ๐
Hi, Thanks so much for commenting! I loved these nails and got lots of compliments. ๐ I started with my base coat (Essie Feed Me) then 2 healthy coats of OPI Fly. I allowed it to dry for a few minutes, then applied a couple coats SV to help it dry quickly, and also to provide a base for my stamped design. I like plenty of polish between my stamp and my base color because if I put the stamp on crooked or it doesn’t go on perfectly I can remove it without disturbing my polish. Once the tc was dry, I used BM 212 to stamp the design on my nails using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Pronto Purple. I gave that a minute to dry, applied some OPI tc (it wont smear your polish as easily as SV), then SV and allowed that to dry thoroughly. Once dry, I used my blue Migi nail art pen to fill in the center of each feather-y shape, let that dry, used some OPI tc, then SV, then SHMS and ta-daaaa! Lovely peacock nails! Only later did I sponge some unnamed LA Colors holo glitter on the tips and add some more tc. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for reading! ~Nicole

Thanks so much! They were really fun to wear and I agree, those are some of my favorite colors for my nails. ๐ Thanks for the comments today!!
