LA Girl Metal Metallic Nail Polish Deep Sea Mica (review)

Ever since I’ve seen the swatches for Nicole by OPI’s Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam (see them on Swatch and Learn here) I’ve been looking for a super-dark, near-black teal color like KHALLL is supposed to be. I’ve been quite a fan of blues and greens lately, and have been quite honestly hating all things red so I really feel like I must have that polish!!! Until I can find it, I’ll just keep looking, I guess. 🙂

On my search for a dark, dark teal (aka: grocery shopping with my mom, haha) I found this dark green “metallic” polish (I put that in quotes because it looks just like a shimmer to me, I wouldn’t call it metallic). I have never tried this brand before, but I liked the color and it was only $2.99 so I was also loving the price.

Application:

This is 3 coats of polish over SH Hard as Nails for a base and my regular Seche/SHMS topcoat combo. It went on really nicely, dried with no brushstrokes and was opaque after 2 coats. Also, it dried nice and shiny even without the topcoats.

Wear:

I actually wore this polish almost all week (this is nearly unheard of for me!) and I only have slight tip wear after 4 days. It’s awesomely durable.

Yes, Please! or No, Thank You

I definitely like this color, although it’s not quite as dark as I’m looking for. It isn’t as light as it shows in the pictures, but it’s also not as dark as KHALLL looks. I’m still on my hunt for my dark, dark teal polish but for now, this is a pretty shade to wear. Also, the price and the durability of it was EXCELLENT.

Is there a color you’re looking for that you’re dying and trying to get your hands on?

  1. I’m so honoured for the mention! 😀 I’m glad that you liked the colour that much.

Even though Deep Sea Mica isn’t a dupe for Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam, I have to say that you are totally rocking that shade! Looks AMAZING on your nails!
