Competing for best glitter polish: OPI Muppet Collection Glitters Rainbow Connection and Excuse Moi (Review)

Are you a glitter junkie? Are you excited for the OPI Muppet Collection to be in stores in a few days? If so, keep reading because this review will get you even more pumped about the coming release. You may have seen my reviews on the rest of the Muppet glitters, but I have saved my two favorites for last. 🙂

Rainbow Connection

Rainbow Connection is a multi-color, multi-shape, multi-sized glitter densely packed into a clear base.  It looks as if a 6 year-old’s birthday confetti was shrunk down a bit and plastered to your nail. It looks awesome!! There are so many varieties of glitter in this bad boy!

Look at all that glitter!

OoooOOOooohhhh sparrrrrrrkly! 😉

On your nails the glitter reflects so much light and looks awesome! And with so many different colors in this bottle (red, green, blue, fuchsia, gold, silver, etc), it could be a glittery top coat for a multitude of polishes or, in about 3 coats, opaque and stunning alone.  The polish goes on well, and like the other OPI Muppet Collection Glitters (Fresh Frog…, Gone Gonzo, Gettin Miss Piggy…, Divine Swine) it’s pretty smooth on the nail. It’s nothing like some of the other glitters I’ve worn. Maybe it’s due to the large flat pieces of glitter… whatever it is, I like it. It drinks up much less top coat that way.  All the large pieces of glitter in Rainbow Connection can sometimes tend to clump up or allow your polish brush to drag them off the nail, but if you just keep your brush at a very low angle to the nail (almost flat) that isn’t much of a problem.

Lower light

With flash. These pictures just don't seem to do this polish justice, it's much brighter in real life.

This is just a great staple glitter. Everyone should have this. And if you’re not into glitter because you don’t like having 3 thick coats on your nail, try painting your nails a matching base coat (silver foil like SH Xtreme Wear Celeb City works WONDERFULLY under a predominantly silver glitter) before you put on the glitter. It will make the glitter seem opaque much quicker and also prolongs the life of your glitter polish by requiring less. You will hardly notice a difference if you pick a good base color. Remember though, base color goes on over  your base coat.

Yes, please! or No, thank you

Uh… yeahhhh!!!!!!!!!! I love a multi multi multi glitter that catches everyone’s eye! And the smoothness and ease of application for such a chunky glitter is quite impressive as well.

Excuse Moi

Excuse Moi is silver micro glitter with small round multi-colored glitter in a pink/mauve base. It isn’t a bright pink, but it’s more pink than a dusty mauve color. It is  really pretty and with all that glitter in it… it was a surprise favorite of mine out of this collection.

Excuse Moi is the only Muppet glitter without big chunky glitter. I thought that would make it my least favorite, but it's so pretty with the multi-colored glitter that I actually really love it!

Still sparkly even without the hex glitter! 🙂

This polish applies easily and is perfectly opaque in 2 coats. The finish is smooth and only takes one coat of top coat to make it shiny and smooth and beautiful!

Low light makes this polish look a little dull but it is anything but! It's subtle compared to the other glitters in this collection but super pretty.

This polish reminds me of an updated, prettier version of my mom's every-day-of-her-life mauve Maybelline nail polish that she's been wearing as long as I've been alive. Do you think I can convert her?? haha.

Yes, please! or No, thank you

Definitely yes! I honestly can’t wait to be done doing Halloween nails so I can wear this color. No wonder it’s slated to come out the day after Halloween. I may even wear it before I sport the Rainbow Connection polish.

How do you like the OPI Muppets collection? Do you have yours yet or are you waiting for Nov. 1st?
